How can I keep my bouquet of flowers fresh until 5 o clock?

I don't want to ruin my bouquet if I were to cut the flowers and put them into a vase. I need help! I am contemplating on whether or not I should put it in the fridge, it seems best but many say that it could ruin my flowers. What should I do?
