Permanent bruise? Is it possible?

A few months ago I used to date this guy and long story short, he had a bad temper. We got into a physical fight and oddly enough the worst damage was he bit my leg (right leg, on the left side of the calf) really hard. Immediately the bite mark swelled (although I don't think it really punctured the skin) and it hurt like hell to take my jeans off. Soon id acquired a bruise larger than a softball taking up almost my entire left calf of my right leg. And it didn't go away for almost a month! Now its no longer visible, but I swear when I rub my leg around there I sort of can feel it.. it just doesn't feel quite right. Well yesterday I was dumb, wasn't looking where I was walking and all but tumbled down the door step.. hitting many areas including that same area. Noticed no odd pain but now.. today I can see the outline of his bite. Is this normal? Am I going to be okay?
