New shy horse at the barn?

So there is this new mare at our barn named Georgie. When I was walking around the barn she backed away from me and turned her head. She seemed to be really shy. I'm staying at the barn all day for the next 2 days and I want to see what I can do to start to get her to open up to me. The only problem, we don't have an indoor arena and the arena is all snow and ice. I hate Maine's winters. I know it will take longer than 2 days but I just want to know what I can do to start.
