HE LIKES YOU! It's obvious, sounds like he's not sure of how to come about asking you out though or to take a chance with another girl because of how he was treated by that other girl. I think that not having friends that are the same is a good thing because then you both can meet new people as well as have your own time with your own friends. When you share too many things it becomes a problem sometimes. You spend too much time together and lose what is yours and whats his. So, I think you should give this guy a shot. I think he may have said that because he's nervous of how to hang out with you outside of this common room. Talk to him like you would talk to any of your other friends. Find out what he's interested in and what kind of hobbies he's into because if you share any of those things those become good opportunities for date ideas!
