Do I have a trust issue in our relationship? If I do, did my boyfriend give me a reason to have one?

My boyfriend went to Arizona (I live in Ohio) for two weeks to stay at a females house without me. This female was always leaving him comments like "Move in with me, we can play house, you know how I like it" "When you going to come and see me I need some brown suga" "When you going to bring your *** here I need some pampering" always saying I love you and miss you to him, etc. He lied and told me he was going to go see his parents in Louisiana. His reason he lied to me he said was because he was trying to protect me....he knew I wouldn't go for it. For Christmas he got her a nice bracelet and got me nothing. For her birthday he sent her a beautiful bouquet of flowers with a note attached that said "Happy Birthday, love you with all my heart". He has also lied to me about other things like going to the bar and told me he was working late. Again he said he knew I would get mad cause there were other girls there. I caught me trying to meet another girl at Denny's. He says he didn't go, I also found in his cell phone texts where he was telling his ex that maybe they could meet on his birthday. Of course these girls are to him only friends and I have a trust issue, so he says. He says I don't trust him. There is so much more but I will stop here for now. I want to know do I have a trust issue with him or did he give a reason to not trust him?
